Your Textile Recycling Partner

Overview

At D&M Recycling, our goal is to promote environ- mental sustainability through textile recycling in collaboration with local businesses. Why is recycling so critical? According to the Environmental Protection Agency, the average U.S. consumer throws away 81 lbs. of clothing annually, with only 14.7% being recycled. The result is that a staggering 11.3 tons of discarded textiles end up in landfills every year.

Benefits

The benefits of recycling textiles are numerous. Not only does textile recycling limit the impact on landfills, it also reduces global warming by lowering emissions of dangerous gases like methane and carbon dioxide. In addition, recycling reduces the need for new clothing and the consumption of natural resources within the manufacturing process.

Recycling Boxes

With easy access to recycling boxes within the community, consumers are much less likely to simply discard used textiles in the trash. Through our expertly managed recycling program, our network of well-maintained drop boxes, and our partnerships with local businesses, our goal is to divert clothing from landfills to those in need. We strive to establish sustainable relationships for the long-term both our business partners and the environment fit of

Collection

After collection, we coordinate with brokers who sort and package the collected items to be shipped overseas to developing countries where the need is the greatest. Once received, they are utilized within local communities to create jobs and provide income streams for small businesses while providing affordable clothing for those with limited means.
